|
• There will be no entries on the day.
• The start and finish is adjacent to the water park on the Festival Fields in the Millennium Coastal Park (also event headquarters). Parking will be at the Festival Fields car park (adjacent to the event headquarters). Parking is free; however all parking of vehicles is at the owner’s risk
• To minimise any delays please be AT LEAST 1.5 HOURS EARLY. Due to access constraints leading to the event car-park – short delays may be expected on the local road-network before filtering into the car-park area. Please plan your journey to allow sufficient time before the start of the event
• PLEASE ALSO NOTE - There are major road-works ongoing in the Llanelli Area. Diversions are in-place. Please see the map contained in the event pack, advising on the route that should be taken to the event. Signs will be in-place for this route (from junction 48 M4 only). The nearest postcode to the event car park is SA15 4DP. It’s advisable NOT to use satnavs due to the road closures
• All attendees should bring a change of clothing and waterproof clothing in case of poor weather
• The run will start at approximately 9:00am and will take place in a safe traffic free environment within the beautiful and scenic Millennium Coastal Path. The event will be marshalled and first aid cover will be provided by St. John Ambulance and qualified paramedics
• Toilet facilities will be provided at the event
• At the start please ensure your starting position matches your pace – i.e. slower runners must position themselves towards the back of the field
• The course will be mostly on tarmac surface with some dirt track included and is considered flat with a few mild undulations. There will be mile markers and three water stations are on route. Toilets will be available on the course. Water will also be provided at the finish
• There will be professional photographers at the event – don’t forget to give a smile when passing the camera especially at the finish (if possible)
• Due to the time of the year and the fact that the run is along an exposed coastline, it is advisable to bring suitable clothing to possibly wear during the run, to safeguard against the possible conditions
• There are 4 categories for both male and female participants. Senior (below 40 years) V40, V50 and V60 for the men, senior (below 35 years) V35, V45 and V55 for the women
• Cash prizes will be awarded to the first male and female athlete to cross the finish line. Trophies will be awarded to the first three to finish in each of the categories. There will be event mementos for all finishers
• The race number will be supplied as part of the event pack. Numbers must be worn on the front – please supply your own safety pins
• The timing chip is also supplied as part of the event pack. Chips must be worn as per instruction supplied. If chip is not worn correctly your running time will probably be invalid
• TIMING CHIPS are disposable therefore no need to return
• There will be an announcement 10 minutes prior to the start of the event; when participants must report to the start line of their event. A safety de-brief will be given at this time. At the race finish participants are encouraged to leave the finish area as quickly as possible
• Please assist us to protect the environment by throwing the water bottles used in the designated BIN areas which will be present after every drinks station
• Winning race results will be provided at the prize giving ceremony soon after the main event has finished. All other race results will be posted onto the event web site
• There will be light refreshments available at the event to include teas, coffees, soft drinks and light snacks.
